East and west

Ryan has nearly finished the weatherboards on the west side and is Dean continuing work on the
east deck covering.

Stained glass windows

The two sets of french doors linking the hall to the extension, both opening into the dining room, will have stained glass windows.

Through Pete Bassant, who's doing our kitchen joinery, we stumbled upon a great stained glass window maker in Featherston and it turns out he'd repaired the stained glass window next to our front door a few years ago.

The front door and window

This is the window on the bottom left being repaired.

So while he waits for the new doors to be built he is making a new round stained glass window for the front door to replace the plain glass that's there at the moment.
Glass cut and ground and laid out.

Sun's back!

Ryan worked on the west side of the house and Dean continued on the verandah roof.

Another wet one

The rain returned so some internal framing was done - this is the wall between the ensuite and pantry.

And when the rain stopped there was some more progress with the deck covering.

Weatherboards on back of extension

The sun is back today so Ryan and Cody are putting the weatherboards on the back of the extension.

While Dean double checked calculations for the side verandah roof before cutting the posts.

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet...

There was a storm forecast so Ryan and Cody worked indoors, first strengthening the existing roof supports and then demolishing the kitchen and the wall between what was the kitchen and laundry.
