Roofing continues

The roofing has started

Dean met onsite with our architect John Sutherland.

Cory and Ryan continued work in the old laundry, making the bottom plate higher, removing the last concrete and bricks and preparing for piling

Then they started the roof

Bargeboard, roofing iron and breaking foundations

Dean attached the bargeboard.

Most of the roofing iron has arrived, although sadly not all the timber to attach it to.

Cody opened up the foundation between the old laundry and the rest of the house so that it will be accessible in future. We'd previously removed the old laundry's concrete and soil floor.

The sun is back

Heavy rain last evening but the sun is back today.

Removing old window

With wind and rain forecast they decided to do some internal work. But first that meant removing the old laundry window......

......and removing soil that has been under the old concrete floor and preparing to install a new window in what will become an ensuite.   I'd dug out this much earlier in the week.

 Cody carried on the digging while Dean worked out  exactly where the ensuite window will go.....

...and where the kitchen's french doors will be.

 And preparations for the weatherboards and roof have started
